Collocations About “Stairs”

Shall we take the stairs or take the lift? (use / take the stairs)

Unfortunately, I fell down the stairs and broke my leg. (fall down the stairs)

My grandfather finds it difficult to climb the stairs because she is 80. (climb the stairs)

I wish the children would stop running up and down the stairs. (run up / down the stairs)

He was out of breath when he reached the top of the stairs. (the top of the stairs)

The lift was broken, so we had to walk up five flights of stairs. (a flight of stairs)

My boxes were heavy, so I left them at the bottom of the stairs. (the bottom of the stairs)

He picked up the child and carried her up the stairs. (carry something / somebody up / down the stairs)
