Introduction to BOINC

BOINC (Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing, http://boinc.berkeley.edu/) lets you contribute computing power on your home PC to projects doing research in many scientific areas. You can contribute to a single project, or to any combination of them. BOINC is interesting projects, which lets common people have opportunities to advance sciences. It is easy to use BOINC to contribute your computing power.

  1. Choose projects
  2. Download BOINC and run it
  3. Enter account information

BOINC is designed for scientists, but it also can be used by universities and corporations. Scientists can use BOINC to create a volunteer computing projects, universities can develop Virtual Campus Supercomputing Center, and companies can use it for Desktop Grid Computing.
